United Airlines Gets a Facelift
If you’re flying United Airlines, you’re likely to notice major changes for the almost 90 year old airline service. As one of the world’s largest providers of air transportation, United Airlines is now working to update not only its look but also improve its connections with savvy technology consumers. In June and July, United Airlines has unveiled new employee uniforms, a new mobile app, is offering bed seats for international flights from North America, and has rolled out new frequent flyer benefits.
A New Look
Does your flight attendants look different? No, that’s not a trick question. For the first time in the airline’s history, employees will wear more visually-branded uniforms. Featuring a more stream-lined, professional complement of clothing, employees will be able to choose from a wardrobe of options including two new styles of dresses for women. Staff may also choose from light blue colored shirts and black blazers and pants, depending on their job description. This change brings the airline’s uniforms into the modern age while providing flexibility and increased wardrobe choices for employees. Looking good United!
Updates on All Mobile Platforms
On July 2, 2013, United Airlines released a major update to its mobile application for the iOS, Android, and Blackberry 10 platforms. The primary goal of the release is to allow passengers more flexibility for managing their travel details in real time. For flight delays or cancellations, passengers will be able to change their itinerary and search for alternate flights. The update also includes an improved user interface.

More Changes to Come

United has committed to make mobile boarding passes available at all domestic airports in fall 2013. Currently there are only 40 locations internationally which offer the service. And of course, for premium ticket holders, a new bed option is available for international flights. Currently 183 of United’s planes have them available.
